MKR Dental is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Richmond, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Dental Assistant to join our team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and dental hygienist to provide high-quality dental care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with dental procedures, taking patient vital signs, maintaining accurate medical records, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Prepare treatment rooms for dental procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available

- Assist the dentist and dental hygienist during procedures, providing support and anticipating their needs

- Take and develop dental x-rays as directed by the dentist

- Perform patient assessments, including taking vital signs and recording medical history

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes

- Follow proper infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment for patients and staff

- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care instructions

- Assist with dental lab tasks such as pouring models, trimming trays, and fabricating temporary crowns

- Schedule patient appointments and manage the dental office's front desk duties as needed

Skills:

- Proficient in using dental software such as open dental for appointment scheduling and patient record management

- Strong knowledge of dental anatomy, terminology, and procedures

- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality

- Experience in taking accurate patient vital signs

- Competency in taking dental x-rays and maintaining proper safety measures

- Understanding of medical coding for insurance billing purposes is a plus

- Experience with CAD/CAM technology for digital impressions is a plus

- Previous experience as a dental assistant or dental receptionist is a plus
